The Federal Bureau Of Investigation (FBI) has requested information from the general public that will lead to the capture of 6 Nigerians who were involved in the Business Email Compromise (BEC) Schemes.
The Security Service made this known via their verified Twitter handle @FBI. The Tweet reads;
“Help the #FBI find six Nigerian Nationals wanted for their involvement in Business Email Compromise (BEC) schemes resulting in over $6 million in losses. Read more about each defendant at ow.ly/97Dk50A9Gk8, and submit tips at tips.fbi.gov.
Recall that recently, the news and social media was awash with reports about the arrest of a popular Nigerian Instagram celebrity Ramoni Igbalode popularly known as Hushpuppi in Dubai.
The news generated so much fuss and still does. Hushpuppi is known to have love for flashy, customized, costly things. He displays his affluence on Instagram and makes his followers to either troll him or plead with him for monetary assistance. All that is gone now as FBI arrested him alongside his gangs.
However, the recent request by the FBI could not be unconnected to their recent success in Dubai.
The Dubai police few days ago released the video of the operation they termed FOX HUNT 2 where they arrested Hushpuppi, Mr. Woodberry, and their gangs.
Furthermore, reactions have trailed the FBI’s recent tweet where they are requesting for help in capturing six Nigerians. Most people have questioned why the FBI must single out the Nigerians whereby in the link they provided to read more about the Nigerians, there were people from other nationalities. In fact, Nigeria is the least going by the number of those from other countries.
There are 79 of them; 16 were Russians, 20 were Chinese, 6 were Nigerians, while 37 of them are of Arabic descent.
These are the reactions of people on Twitter:

The question here is, why is the FBI making it a Nigerian Issue?
It a question we hope to find an answer to.
