A letter to the newly elected President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo by Enyinnaya Nwosu

Newsie:-

Enyinnaya Nnaemeka Nwosu ( ENN), a former presidential aspirant in the last election has written to the newly elected President General of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Professor George Obiozor outlining the expectations of Ndi Igbo as he mounts the leadership position.

He urged the new President General to use his wealth of experience to harmonise the demands of the Igbo nation, focusing on the economic development of the entire Igbo nation.

His letter which was made available to NEWSIE EVENTS urged the newly elected President General to work with the South-East Governors in ensuring that 5% of Monthly allocation is set aside for Igbo Development Commission.

The Full Text of the Letter reads;

Dear Professor Obiozor,
Congratulations on your election as the new President General of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo.
There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that going by your educational and career qualifications, the cap fits you.
However, the position of president of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in 2021 requires more than education and career exploits. It requires a man who understands the aspirations of Igbo people especially at this moment and a man who has the WILL POWER to stand firm and defend the Igbo agenda.
You have a great task ahead of you. The greatest is the political and economic unity of the Igbo land. The Igbo nation must come together and speak with one strong voice irrespective of political party affiliations.
My proposal is that you bring the 5 Eastern governors together and in agreement for an Igbo development plan under what we can call IGBO DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION to be headed by a board of Igbo technocrats of repute, 2 members from each of the 5 Igbo states.
You must work with the governors to commit to setting aside 5% (this can be negotiated) of their monthly allocation to IGBO DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION.
The commission will have a yearly budget for development in Igbo land. Projects like Igbo railway system, Igbo Bank, major connecting road network, 5 national hospitals in each state, taking over of one University in each state, Igbo Farms one in each state, Factories and other investment.
The commission’s focus should be economic development of the entire Igbo nation.
As much as possible, you must be seen to be above board and neutral and provide leadership. You should be accommodating and approachable by all.
We do not want an Ohanaeze that will fight, condemn, or help destroy Igbo organisation instead of harmonising the demands of Igbo people.
Let me not bombard you with many demands and proposals now as you have only been elected.
I shall be in touch in the coming days to offer more details.
Prof, this is a great opportunity for you to make your mark. We have hope that you will not disappoint us.

God bless the Igbo nation
Enyinnaya Nnaemeka Nwosu ENN
