Edo 2020: Oba Of Benin Meets Obaseki, Ize-iyamu, As They Sign Peace Pact

As the gubernatorial election for Edo State draws near, in two weeks from now, the two major political parties and their candidates Governor Godwin Obaseki For PDP and Pastor Ize-iyamu For APC signed a peace pact deal at the palace of the Oba of Benin.
Both politicians are considered the major contenders in the coming Edo governorship election have met in the Palace of Oba Of Benin to sign a peace accord.
It was gathered that the peace agreement between the politicians was held on Wednesday, September 2, and supervised by the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II in order to douse the tension in the state.
Oba Ewuare II said the peace pact would enable the candidates to talk to their followers to eschew violence. Also in attendance were Other major political actors in the state.
Following verbal exchanges between the incumbent governor, Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and his contender, Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the political atmosphere in Edo State has been considered as tensed by many.
