Mailafiya Obadiah Resisgns From NIPPS, Give Reasons

By Chinenye Festus:-
The former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Obadiah Mailafia has reportedly resigned his appointment from National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS).
Mailafia told Daily Trust that the reason for his disengagement is in protest for the killings in Southern Kaduna.
He also stated that he resigned from the institution on his own and not motivated from anyone or being coerced.
He said: “Nobody asked me or pressurised me to resign. I did it on my own. I decided that I cannot continue working with all my good conscience when my people are continually being killed and genocide is being committed against my people.
“That was the reason I gave, and the management has accepted my resignation. I gave them one month’s notice from 18th August to 18th September when the resignation will take off properly. And my resignation is for the best interest of everybody.”
Recall, that Mailafia was invited by the DSS over a claim he made that a governor from northern Nigeria is one of the commanders of Boko Haram.
