The vision of Monarch Model College is not only to engage their students and pupils in sound education, but to also contribute meaningfully in the reduction of unemployment in the Nation by teaching skills acquisition to students in the college to enable them become effective after graduation.

The college located at plot 86 & 87 Bolarinwa street behind ECWA Church police post, challenge, Ibadan Oyo State during the long vacation, will commence skills acquisition activities for their students in Senior classes.

Speaking with NEWSIE EVENTS correspondent in his office, the Chairman Board of Directors of Monarch Model College Mr. Simon Kayode Adeyeye said “the present time in Nigeria, skills has become very important. It doesn’t really matter whatever certificate one has acquired or the level of Academic height one has been able to attend, there is no guarantee of getting a white collar job easily and even when the certificate fetches a white collar job, how many salary earners are comfortable in the Nation?”

He said the high level of unemployment in the Nation is what brought the idea of engaging students in the college to acquire skills training within the holiday to help them in future.

Mr. Adeyeye said the purpose is to help students acquire skills so that before graduating from the college he or she might have procured a particular skill that will enable him or her to be independent even while in the higher institution.

Kayode said it is not every parent that are financially stable when it comes to the issues of sponsoring their wards in the higher institution and that is where the skill acquired while in the college will profuse solution and will help the parents to bear less burdens.

He said even after graduation from the higher institution, while still waiting to secure a payable job, skills can always be put to use and can turn to a major source of income.

Mr Simon said the college is emotional to give the students the opportunity to learn skills that will enable them become useful to themselves.

He said the training which will last for four weeks will feature three major trainings and the resource persons in each of the courses are already on standby to kick up the training which will include art & Craft, catering and computer repairs.

The Philanthropist and Christ Apostolic Church Deacon Faithful, also uses the medium to mark three years of the college’s existence and made it known that within the three years the school has recorded tremendous achievements, not only gaining Government approval but the college has also been certified to write all certificate examinations counting from common entrance to West Africa Certificate Examination
(WACE & NECO).

He said the college within three years has also recorded series of academic successes with credible and qualified teachers to mandate child rearing in the classroom.

Kayode Adeyeye, while acknowledging parents for their magnanimity, unreserved support and cooperation also called on them not to relent in their efforts to give their children morals values on every side, he added that school will only play that part and leave the rest for the parents to blend with what the school has given to them.

High point of the party was series of performance by pupils and students including drama, playlet, choreography, stage dance, awards to best performing students, pupils and lots more to mark the 2020/2021 end of the academic session.
