The Managing Director of MultiChoice, parent production company of the popular reality show, Big Brother Naija, (BBNaija), John Ugbe, has disclosed that the highest votes ever received in the history of the show happened in this ‘Shine Ya Eye’ season.
Ugbe made this disclosure on Monday, October 4, at a media briefing and presentation of prizemoney to 29-year-old businessman, Whitemoney, who emerged winner of the sixth edition of the show.
According to the MD, the show recorded over 1 billion votes from its different voting platforms, adding that in the final week alone, they amassed over 300 million votes.
John Ugbe also put the amount that was spent in producing the BBNAIJA Shine Ya Eye edition that just ended on Sunday. October 3 at N4.3.billion. He revealed that Whitemoney emerged winner after amassing 47% of the total votes.
The Enugu-born winner of the show was presented with a cash prize of N30 million, a brand new Innosson G-40 and a two-bedroom apartment in a choice location in Lekki, Lagos state.
