Honourable Binta Mamman, the first female Majority Leader and the only female in the Niger State House Of Assembly has been impeached.
Mamman was impeached on Thursday, December 24, during the House’s plenary.
Information as to what triggered the move by lawmakers has not been made public.
Until her impeachment, Binta Mamman was the first female House leader in the state’s legislature.
An official statement revealing why the former leader was impeached or the number and names of the lawmakers that supported the action against her is yet to be released by the house of assembly.
