AKSG orders Abak Chairman to pay the furniture maker his #2.8m debt with immediate effect.

At last, the Akwa Ibom state government has stepped into the long-standing debt of #2.8m indebted by the executive Chairman of Abak LGA Barr Imo Williams to the furniture maker Mr Uwem Edet Obot who the council helmsman awarded a contract to renovates four dilapidated office complex in the council in 2018.
NewsieEvents correspondent in Akwa Ibom state for the past one month has been very regular in reporting the battle set up by the furniture dealer Mr Uwem Obot popularly called Uwem Assian to recover his long-standing debt from the hand of the Executive Chairman.
Report reaching out to NEWSIE EVENT is that Akwa Ibom state government under the leadership of Deacon Udom Emmanuel has swing action ordering the council boss to pay off the furniture maker within 48 hours otherwise face the wrath from the state.
Our correspondent gathered that a committee for the payment procedures was set up last week Monday 4th May 2020 which the furniture maker Mr Uwem Obot was equally invited to appear before the committee.  But, on Saturday of the same week 9th May, 2020 the DSS invited the furniture maker through the DPO Abak division.
The furniture who received a phone call from the DPO to report to his office immediately where he met with the DSS at the office of the DPO.
According to our reliable source who hinted our correspondent, reveals that the DSS told the furniture maker Mr Uwem Assian that they received a report on his about intentions to cause mayhem in both the local government area and the state at large in order to disrupt the PDP administration in the state failure for the executive Chairman to pay him his #2.8m debt.
Our source said, ‘obviously the DSS including the DPO was disappointed that the furniture maker who is a core supporter of Governor Udom Emmanuel administration and the PDP at large has no such plan neither intention of what he has been accused before the DSS.”
Meanwhile the governor Deacon Udom Emmanuel has ordered the executive Chairman Barr. Imo Williams to quickly pay the furniture maker the #2.8m before drastic action is taken against him by the state.
