The Anambra State Ministry of Women and Children Affairs ably led by the Commissioner, Lady Ndidi Mezue has In Its bid to rid the streets of Anambra State of mentally challenged persons roaming the street, rescued a depressed man who mistaken to be mentally challenged.
According to ABS news, It was yet another busy and revealing day for the joint raid team of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
The day’s exercise turned out to be a life-changing experience for Mr. Omebeoguna Ifeanyi Louis, a native of Ebonyi State.
A middle-aged man, Mr. Ifeanyi, alongside a mentally challenged person was picked up at Aroma Bridge and Enugu Onitsha Express road, Awka, respectively on the assumption that both were mentally challenged, upon interrogation by the Honorable Commissioner, it was discovered that Mr. Ifeanyi is sane.
It was depression that drove him to roam the street like a mentally deranged person, before he was rescued on the 29th June 2020.
Mr. Ifeanyi is currently undergoing rehabilitation and counseling at the ministry of Women and Children Affairs, while the other person has been taken to Nteje Home for the Mentally challenged for the beginning of his rehabilitation.
