Senator Chukwuka Utazi

The Senator expressed dissatisfaction over what he saw when he visited hospitals, noting that doctors should not be footing patients bill which is what is prevalent in most of the hospitals.
As the sponsor of the National Health Emergency Bill, Utazi noted that the National Assembly is working tirelessly to ammend the gaps in the health sector. He strongly believes that the parliament need to be guided legally as it concerns health management emergencies in the country.
The Senator maintained that there is no better time for the law to come on board if not now as the National Assembly is a body saddled with the responsibility of making laws and filling gaps that are existing where need be.  “We cannot continue depending on executive orders one after the other. It is totally wrong. This is a democracy. We are not in a military regime where the executive will make laws for the people” .
