Lagos State Commissioner For Health Advises Residents Above 65 Years To Avoid Worship Centre

The government of Lagos state has advised residents above 65 years of age to stay at home and avoid places of worship as they are at a high risk of getting infected with the coronavirus in order to help with the containment of the virus.
Professor Akin Abayomi gave this remark during a press conference in Alausa, Ikeja, the State capital.
He stated that as the state enters the second phase of the ease of the lockdown as directed by the Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwolu in line with the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and the NCDC, strict adherence to guidelines is vital as regards reopening of worship places.
Abayomi emphasized on the commitment of the State government to do all within their power to ensure that public health of residents is well managed, stating that government is perturbed about the age group considered as vulnerable.
The commissioner thereby advised residents over 65years and above to avoid worship places and be mindful of their environment.
He urged everyone to continue to practice personal hygiene so that together they’ll win the fight against the pandemic.
