#Justice4George: U.S Has Been A Perfect Example Of An Unjust System –  By Caleb Onyeabor

Until you understand that the world system is designed in an Oppressor – Oppressed relationship, you may never make sense of the gruesome murder of George Floyd.
The United States of America has for centuries been a perfect and leading example of an unjust system. There is no denying of the ‘stenching’ plight of an average black man in the so-called land of the free.
George Floyd is one of many of such malevolent acts that happens both on and off the spotlight. The struggle against racism is real. Racial injustice is very much alive.
For how long will a person’s color be his crime? For how long will men be treated by the color of their skin and not the content of their character?
When I saw the trend and the manner in which George fell, two movies came to my mind. The Hate You Give and Denzel Washington’s The Great Debaters. From the Hate You Give, I think it is our responsibility to educate ourselves on the injustice of this world and raise the consciousness of every black soul the way Carter did to his kids. From the Great Debaters, I agree with Farmer’s argument that a man has a right to defend himself either through civil disobedience or violence and the oppressor should be glad when he chooses the former.
A struggle for a fair and just world is what we owe the next generation and it is what we must have ” By all means necessary “. The leaders of the black race must come together to be involved in this struggle. Powerful and influential black celebrities can stage big people protest to the next UN general assembly. African leaders should summon US ambassadors in their nations and threaten diplomatic actions. More importantly, negros will never be taken seriously as long as Africa is in the state it is. Africa must fix itself.
Again, two men came to my mind. Martin Luther and Malcolm X. It has gotten to a point where I think the sermons of love and dreams should be kept back on the shelves. You can’t be giving out bread while being served with stones. It is time to take Malcolm X principles seriously!
George isn’t going to be the last case. It will happen over and over again. This is a big war. And like Shakur said, ” before we find world peace, we gotta find real peace to the war on the streets “.
