The factional National APC Chairman Victor Giadom has described his suspension by the Rivers state chapter as Ineffective, speaking through his lawyer,Oluwole Afolabi, insisted that the suspension is in contempt with a subsisting court order affirming him as the acting chairman of the ruling party.
“The law is trite that a member of a political party cannot be suspended from the party while he’s in court asserting a vested right as a member of the party ”
“By attempting to suspend chief Giadom from the party, the characters involved are trying to force a fait accompli on the court and thereby tie the hands of the court.” Afolabi said.
Giadom, who imposed himself as the chairman of the party after Adams Oshiomhole’s suspension was upheld by an Appeal Court amid ranging crises in APC, was sanctioned over allegations of gross disobedience to the APC constitution. He was suspended by the Rivers state chapter of the ruling party. Sunday, June 21..
Recall that APC had announced Abiola Ajimobi as the chairman of the party in acting capacity after appeal court upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole.
The party, however, declared Hillard Eta who is the south-south vice chairman of the party to stand in for Ajimobi who is “unavoidably absent.”
