There is something in man that strives for excellence and to see that he is doing the best for himself. Man has engaged in different knowledge of how he can build himself to show forth his best. Till this present time, man is still looking for how to still become the best of his best person.
There was a time people have the desire to be, if not exactly like some other people they have in high regards. After a while, that idea or knowledge didn’t bring out the best that man wants for himself. He knew within that he is worth more than what he has become and he was unsatisfied. He kept looking for other means.
Later, some scholars established that the best you can be is yourself. Even after then, some others explained that the best you can be is not anyone else, the second version of another person, or just yourself but the best version of yourself. They said we should keep developing ourselves in what life we want to live. At the end of it all, man still wasn’t satisfied.
Truly, there is something in man that can not be satisfied by what we in our own wisdom want for ourselves. That thirst for the best and the right thing is from the soul. Our soul knows what it needs, even though we may not know. And what does the soul needs that will satisfy it? It is Christ!
1 John 2:6 “The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”
The truth is, no matter who we are or try to become outside Christ, even our best person, is full of corruption. The person that escaped the corruption in this world is Christ Jesus and we are to learn of him till we become all of him.
1 John 3:2 “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”
All that we learn of Christ is to conform us to become Christ so that we can then learn of God. Let us keep hearing, seeing and handling this Word of God till we become fully transformed.
We need not look for any best in ourselves or the world, all that is in the world will perish away, it is only what is in Christ that can stand in the appearance of God to learn of Him. Christ is our target, let’s keep going!
