By Our Reporter

Ojema Ojotu, the member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ojotu, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Inland Waterways, announced his decision in a letter read during Tuesday’s plenary session by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Benjamin Kalu.

In the letter, Ojotu attributed his defection to the persistent internal crisis within the PDP. He stated that the move followed extensive consultations with his constituents, political allies, and family members.

“After consultation with my constituents, family members and political associates, I have decided to dump the PDP for the APC,” the lawmaker declared.

Ojotu’s defection marks another shift in the political landscape as the APC continues to consolidate its strength in the National Assembly.
