Yuletide Cheer: Abak stakeholders applaud Gov. Umo Eno, praise council chair’s transparent distribution.

Stakeholders in Abak Local Government Area have commended Akwa Ibom StaGovernor, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, for his people-focused leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of citizens, particularly through the distribution of Christmas palliatives to ease the festive season.


The commendation was made on Friday, December 20, 2025, during a well-attended stakeholders’ meeting held at the Abak Local Government Council Hall.
Earlier in the day, in compliance with Governor Eno’s directive to ensure inclusive celebration of the Yuletide across communities, the Executive Chairman of Abak Local Government Area, Hon. (Mrs.) Ime Effiong Charles, supervised the distribution of 40 bags of rice to each of the 91 villages in Abak.

The exercise was carried out in the presence of village heads and youth leaders, underscoring transparency, accountability, and grassroots participation.


Addressing stakeholders, Hon. Mrs. Ime Effiong Charles highlighted Governor Eno’s magnanimity, describing the Christmas largesse and other people-oriented projects as clear evidence of his administration’s dedication to improving the quality of life of Abak residents. She expressed profound gratitude to the Governor and reaffirmed Abak’s readiness to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio, and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.


Representing the five clans of Abak Otoro, Ediene, Midim, Afahaobong, and Abak a cross-section of prominent leaders including former Commissioner Hon. Joe Ukpong; Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Mobilization, Dr. Mrs. Ekemini Umoh; Bishop Francis Akpan; Sir Gabriel Etim; and former Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Uwem Udoma, collectively praised Governor Eno for his inclusive governance style. They also applauded the council chairman for her diligence, transparency, and numerous developmental initiatives across the local government area.


Speaking on the prevailing political climate, Hon. Uwem Udoma urged the people of Abak to remain vigilant and resolute in their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He emphasized that while Governor Eno has fostered unity beyond party lines in the state, the 2027 elections would be a clear contest of political platforms, particularly as the Governor is expected to seek a second term under the APC.


The stakeholders concluded by reaffirming their unwavering loyalty and total support for Governor Umo Eno and his administration.
