The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that he has not enjoyed the same level of support from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
Wike made the remark on Monday during a media parley with selected journalists in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
According to the former Rivers State governor, despite public narratives suggesting otherwise, Makinde benefitted significantly from the President’s support.
“I have not received the kind of support Seyi Makinde got from President Tinubu,” Wike said.
He noted that Makinde personally wrote to President Tinubu, the same individual Makinde later accused of denying him a ministerial slot.
“What I don’t like is when people say, ‘show evidence.’ That is not the issue,” Wike added.
He further challenged Makinde to deny applying for and receiving a N50 billion grant approved by the President.
“Can Makinde boldly say he did not apply for a N50 billion grant which the President approved for him? Wike asked.
