Suspected bandits have abducted multiple residents in a late-night raid on Garin Idi, the ancestral village of Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Dr. Idris Muhammad Gobir. The attack occurred on Monday night in Sabon Birni Local Government Area.
According to reports, the assault was allegedly orchestrated by a notorious bandit leader identified as Kallamu Buzu.
Security analyst Bakatsine, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), revealed details of the incident, stating:
“Moments ago, notorious bandits kingpin Kallamu Buzu attacked Garin Idi community in Sabon Birni LGA, Sokoto State the ancestral home of Sokoto Deputy Governor Dr. Idris Muhammad Gobir. Several residents were abducted during the raid.”
The exact number of abducted individuals remains unknown. As of Tuesday morning, there has been no official response or statement from the Sokoto State Police Command or government officials regarding the incident.
