The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended two suspects linked to the kidnapping and murder of a female bank manager, despite receiving a ransom payment of ₦14 million.

Police spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the suspects — Monday Egbe, aged 32, and Kenneth Nnoga, aged 28 — were arrested on May 28, 2025. Their capture followed a thorough investigation that led operatives to a hideout in a neighboring state.

Tragically, the victim was discovered dead on January 13, 2025, along Nnobi Road. Her eyes had been bound, and her body abandoned, even after her family had paid the demanded ransom.

The suspects are currently being interrogated as police work to uncover the full operations of the criminal gang and track down additional accomplices.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reaffirmed the command’s dedication to protecting lives and property, pledging continued efforts to deliver justice and ensure public safety. The swift response by the police has brought a measure of relief to the grieving family and the wider community.
