The Provost of the College of Medical Laboratory Science and technology Jos, Professor Nkereuwem Etukudoh, has reaffirmed his dedication to advancing human capital development in Plateau State. This came as he paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, at Government House in Jos.
During the visit, Professor Etukudoh commended Governor Mutfwang for his courageous and visionary leadership in the face of socio-political and economic challenges confronting the state. He praised the governor’s efforts in restoring stability, promoting unity, and initiating development-driven policies.
The Provost emphasized the importance of investing in education and professional training, particularly in the medical and laboratory sciences, as a means of addressing the growing healthcare demands in the state and the nation at large. He noted that Plateau State has the potential to lead in the production of highly skilled medical professionals with the right support systems.
He expressed the readiness of the College of Medical Laboratory Science to collaborate with the Plateau State Government in strengthening institutions and building the capacity of local manpower through strategic partnerships, academic exchange programs, and specialized training.
Governor Mutfwang, in his response, appreciated Professor Etukudoh’s visit and applauded the College’s role in shaping the future of healthcare in Nigeria. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to quality education and skill development, stating that it aligns with his broader agenda for social transformation and sustainable development in Plateau State.
Both parties discussed possible areas of collaboration, including technical support for healthcare projects, internship placements for students, and the establishment of training centers across the state to boost local expertise in medical laboratory sciences.
The visit ended on a hopeful note, with mutual pledges to work together in harnessing the full potential of Plateau’s human capital for long-term growth and development.
