2027: Tinubu to receive massive support from south-east – Deputy speaker Kalu

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure 70 to 80 percent of the votes from the South-East in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking in Ntalakwu, Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, Kalu said the support would be the Igbo people’s way of appreciating Tinubu’s commitment to the development of the region. His remarks were contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu.

Kalu stated, “We are promising the President 70 to 80 percent of votes from Igboland. Let us continue to remain as people who love peace and unity.”

He praised Tinubu for fulfilling long-standing promises made to the Igbo people, particularly by establishing and funding the South East Development Commission (SEDC).

“No other President has remembered the promises made to Ndi Igbo after the war like President Bola Tinubu,” Kalu noted. “He made sure the SEDC was signed into law and funded, despite doubts from critics. He truly loves Ndi Igbo, and we as a people never forget those who show us love.”
