A female student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State was on Thursday, thoroughly beaten and burnt alive over an alleged comment against Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
it was gathered that the incident, which occurred on Thursday morning, triggered tension in the school environment.
According to reports, the student, simply identified as Deborah, was mercilessly beaten before she was set ablaze.
In a video trending on social media, some young men were seen hurling stones at the victim.
When the victim fell to the ground unconsciously, the attackers gathered tyres around her before she was set ablaze.
As at the time of reporting this, no statement has been made by the Sokoto State Police Command as to the killing.
All.efforts to reach the command’s police public relations officer, DSP Sanusi Abubakar, were unsuccessful.
He did not take his calls nor responded to text messages forwarded to him.
Meanwhile, Nigerians are reacting angrily to the sad event.
