Critics say the choice of sachet alcohol is not only morally questionable but socially irresponsible, especially given growing concerns about substance abuse and its health consequences in the community.

“Of all the items they could have given, sachet alcohol was the worst choice,” one resident said. “It disrespects the culture and dignity of our people, and it’s sad our leaders think this is appropriate.”
