The Chairman, House Committee on Public Procurement in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, has once again extended a helping hand to the vulnerable in his constituency, doling out food items worth millions of naira.

The distribution exercise, held earlier today at the Unyime Idem Empowerment Centre, 3 Barracks Road, Ukanafun Local Government Area, targeted aged persons, widows, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups in Ukanafun and Oruk Anam LGAs.

Food items shared at the event included:

600 bags of rice

600 bags of garri

300 cartons of spaghetti

30 cartons of seasoning

30 cartons of vegetable oil

30 cartons of tomato paste

20 bags of iodized salt

Hon. Idem, represented by his constituent, Mr. Sylvester Ebong, said the gesture was part of his ongoing commitment to cushion the harsh effects of the economy on less privileged members of society.

“I want to assure my constituents, especially the less privileged, that my commitment to their welfare is unwavering. As promised, this support will be sustained intermittently to cater to their needs,” he affirmed.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for his consistent interventions, noting that his efforts always come at the right time, and pledged their continued support for his leadership.
