Reno Omokri Challenges Garba Shehu To Go Spend a Night In Koshebe village in Borno State without any security, Vows To Give Him $20,000

By Newsie:-

Following claims in an opinion piece by Garba Shehu, President Buhari’s senior media assistant that President Buhari’s administration had “demonstrated unquestionable capacity to protect Nigerians”, a claim which many Nigerians don’t subscribe to, Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s aide on Digital and New Media, Reno Omokri, has challenged the president’s aide to prove that President Buhari had “made Nigeria safer” by spending a night in Koshobe or Kware without the protection of security agents.

Koshebe is a village in the crisis-ridden Borno State, where suspected Boko Haram terrorists were said to have killed at least 110 civilians and rice farmers on November 28, 2020.

Mr. Reno Omokri threw the challenge via his Twitter handle, urging people to share the tweet so it can get to Garba Shehu.

His Tweet reads; “Garba Shehu said General @MBuhari has made Nigeria safer. I vow to pay @GarShehu $20000 if he will spend a night without security in Koshobe, or Kware, verified by an independent journalist. I will give the funds to @DeleMomodu when Garba accepts to go.”

In his reaction, Shehu rejected the challenge and questioned Omokri on the source of the money, which he claimed to be part of the donations made in the name of Leah Sharibu, the only Christian girl held hostage by Boko Haram for refusing to denounce her faith when the terrorists released 109 girls kidnapped from the Government Girls’ Science and Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, Yobe State, on February 19, 2020.

Garba Shehu’s response via his Twitter handle,” If this is the money from the collections made in the name of Leah Sharibu, the unfortunate Christian girl stolen by Boko Haram, I won’t touch it with a long. Please keep “your USD2000”

On a related development, Reno Omokri also called for President Buhari’s impeachment over his statement that only God could effectively secure the Nigerian border with Niger Republic.

Buhari, on Tuesday, made the statement, saying the 1,400 kilometres of border Nigeria shares with Niger Republic could only be “effectively supervised by God”

Omokri via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, said the president should either resign or be impeached since he had failed in his constitutional duty to secure the country and now putting the country’s security in the hands of God.

“In any other country, when a President publicly admits that he can no longer police his nation’s borders, he will resign or be removed,” Omokri tweeted. “How can a President, whose main job is to protect the territorial integrity of a nation, abdicate that responsibility to God? #Buhari has to go!”
