Ebonyi Police Present N13.2m to Families of Deceased Officers

The Ebonyi State Police Command has presented cheques totalling N13,228,287.91 to the next-of-kin of deceased police officers who served in the state.The cheques were presented on Saturday at the Command Headquarters in Abakaliki by the Commissioner of Police, CP Hope Urunwa Okafor, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu.CP Okafor, who was accompanied by members of the Command’s management team, expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families and described the gesture as part of the IGP’s Group Life Assurance and Family Welfare Scheme. According to her, the initiative demonstrates the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, even after death.She urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds, especially for the upkeep and education of the children left behind, and warned against falling victim to fraudsters or investing in risky ventures. Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Ngozi Oruh thanked the IGP and the CP for the support and prayed for God’s protection upon serving officers.The Command reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing personnel welfare.
