Abia: Gunmen kill businessmen near Eziama Police Station, Aba

Two businessmen in Aba, Abia State has been killed by gunmen.

The incident was confirmed by the state police command through its spokesman, Geoffrey Ogbonna. He told journalists that details of the incident, which occurred on Tuesday were still sketchy.

“The incident was at Ogbor Hill area of Aba. The report is still sketchy, but the police have stepped into action,” said the police officer.
A witness who requested anonymity said the victims were killed under Ogbor Hill Waterside Bridge.

He said they were dealers of musical equipment and footwear before the gunmen killed them.
“I was here as one of the victims pulled his car over to greet his friend, the other victim. The gunmen suddenly arrived in four tricycles, confronted one of them and demanded some money,” said the witness. “In the ensuing argument, they shot the victims. It was disturbing that the attack took place just a few metres from the Eziama Police Station.”

It was gathered that the son of one of the victims was also shot and currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
