No fewer than four persons have been confirmed dead, while several others sustained injuries following a violent clash in the Ojoo area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Oyo State Government, which confirmed the incident, condemned the violence in strong terms and assured residents that everyone involved in the attack would be tracked down and brought to justice.

The government said security agencies have been deployed to the affected area to restore peace, maintain law and order, and commence a full-scale investigation into the circumstances that led to the deadly clash.

It warned that anyone found culpable, regardless of status or affiliation, would face the full weight of the law, stressing that the state would not tolerate acts capable of threatening public peace and security.

Residents were urged to remain calm, cooperate with security operatives, and provide credible information that could assist ongoing investigations, while avoiding the spread of rumours capable of escalating tensions.

The state government also extended its condolences to the families of the deceased and wished those injured a quick recovery, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Oyo State.
