Ekiti youths burnt down Redeemed pastor’s house over murdered girl

Newsie Events Media:

Following the sad incident of a missing seven-year-old girl, some aggrieved youths on Tuesday burnt down a building belonging to a pastor attached to the Redeemed Christian Church in Adebun Area of Ado-Ekiti over a missing seven-year-old girl.

According to reports, the girl’s lifeless body, identified as Demilade, was allegedly found in the pastor’s house.

It was gathered that the victim, sent on an errand to buy pap, was waylaid and butchered by the pastor’s daughter, who was said to be deranged.

Miss Demilade was said to have been declared missing around 8:00 a.m. on Monday.
Her parents were said to have raised the alarm when she could not be found. The situation prompted residents to organise a search party for Miss Demilade.
The case was later reported at a police station in the Adehun area of Ado-Ekiti. Speaking on the development, multiple sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the victim’s lifeless body was later found at the pastor’s house in the neighbourhood.

ASP Sunday Abutu, the spokesman for the police command in Ekiti, disclosed that a suspect had been arrested for the alleged murder.

Mr Abutu stated that the arrest was effected based on the information given by the parents, adding that the alleged culprit is in detention at the police headquarters in Ado-Ekiti.
“The dead body of the girl had been recovered and deposited at the morgue. The CP had directed that the matter be investigated thoroughly,” the police spokesman added. “We are studying and extracting information from the suspect in our custody, and we shall inform the members of the public about our findings when we are through.”
