Insecurity: We Can’t Bomb Bandits In Forests – FG

Newsie Events :

Following the Incessant killings, kidnapping, raping and bombing by the terrorists, a.k.a bandits, and Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s caling for the bombardment of forests where these killers are camping as a means of putting an end to the menace, the Federal government said it would be difficult to bomb forests where these killers who are terrorising parts of the country are camping.

According to the Minister of Information and Culture. Alhaji Lai Mohammed, when he featured on a Bond FM programme at the weekend said bombing the forest would be impossible due to innocent people living around the bandits.

Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State  maintained that attacking the bandits by way of bombing will definitely put an end to the incessant attacks in his state.

The governor said if the Federal Government fails to take necessary steps governors in the Northeast would have no choice but to hire mercenaries from other countries.

Reacting, the Minister stated that Nigerian security forces are far better than the mercenaries, saying the governor spoke out of deep concern.

He said, “Governor El-Rufai spoke out of a deep concern about the situation. He might have spoken out because of the circumstances in which the bandits are emboldened to operate.

“The mercenaries cannot be compared with our security forces; the fight against bandits is a difficult one because of the terrain.

“We cannot just go with full force to bomb them or else innocent people living around them will be killed and we don’t want that to happen”.
