A young Nigerian man,  identified as Daniel Ayuba Mark, has reportedly committed suicide after the sum of N1.5 million was stolen from him by online fraudsters.

Daniel, who was known to be advocating for public and mental health on social media, suffered a major blow to his mental health when he got scammed.
Announcing his predicament through the popular microbiology platform, Twitter, before taking his life, he disclosed that a scammer had accessed  his account that he didn’t know was linked to a sport betting platform and withdrew N1.5 million from there.

However, it seemed the case was not resolved as he took to Twitter again to solicit for funds from people so he could restart his life. He admitted that he was considering ending it all, but he changed his mind and said he needs to stay alive to face his fears.

On February 25, he tweeted, “I have killed myself… please forgive me world… forgive me.”

People didn’t take his tweet seriously as they thought he was only seeking attention, until his death was confirmed in an obituary released recently.
He reportedly offed himself on February 28 and was laid to rest on Monday, February 28.
