The Osun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, has dismissed one of its officers, Awopeju Cornelious Sanjo, over alleged gross misconduct in breach of public service regulations.

The dismissal was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the corps’ Public Relations Officer, CSA Yusuf Idowu Abass, who disclosed that the decision followed disciplinary proceedings held on Monday, October 26, 2026.

According to the statement, the allegations against Sanjo, whose service number is OSNA/2021/00018, were formally presented during the proceedings by the command’s Ambassador Provost, CSP Joshua Omogbehin (retd.).

The corps said the officer acknowledged the allegations levelled against him during the disciplinary process, leading to the decision to terminate his service in line with the applicable regulations.

“Following the disciplinary process, he was dismissed from service in accordance with the applicable regulations,” the statement said.

Following his dismissal, the command directed Sanjo to return all Amotekun uniforms, equipment and other official materials in his possession as part of the disengagement process.

Reacting to the development, the Corps Commander, Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, reiterated the agency’s commitment to discipline, professionalism and accountability among its personnel.

Omoyele warned that the corps would not condone indiscipline, misconduct or any action capable of tarnishing the organisation’s reputation.

According to the Commander, “all officers are expected to maintain high standards of conduct and perform their duties in line with the rules and regulations governing the organisation.”

He urged officers to remain disciplined, vigilant and dedicated to their duties, stressing that personnel found guilty of gross misconduct would face appropriate disciplinary action.

The commander also called on members of the public to take note of Sanjo’s dismissal, clarifying that he was no longer a serving operative of the Osun Amotekun Corps.

The statement further cautioned the public against recognising or presenting Sanjo as an active member of the security outfit, noting that he no longer had the authority to represent or act on behalf of the corps.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of conduct, ensuring accountability among its personnel and protecting lives and property across Osun State.

It added that all officers must abide by the organisation’s rules and objectives in carrying out their security responsibilities.
