#EndSARS: Fear Of Second Protest; Policemen, Soldiers Storm Lekki Toll Plaza

By Newsie:-

Fearing the news of another round of #EndSARS protests which was scheduled to kickstart today, 7th December, and in its bid to put a stop to it, armed police officers and soldiers have been deployed at the Lekki toll plaza, Lagos in their numbers.

According to the information given to the PUNCH by several motorists that the security operatives were deployed around midnight.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer did not respond to calls on Monday morning.

But, there have been persistent warnings by both the military and the police authorities last week that they would not allow another round of protests to take place.

Recall that the #EndSARS protests, which took place in October, were hijacked by hoodlums leading to the destruction of properties and loss of lives.
On October 20, 2020, the protest turned bloody in Lagos when men in military uniform opened fire on young protesters at the Lekki toll plaza, an epicentre of the protests in Lagos.

The riots that followed witnessed thousands of prisoners set free by the rioters.
