Presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 General election, Atiku Abubakar has chosen Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate.
Atiku made the choice this morning June 16 after the National Working Committee of the party presented three shortlisted nominees to him.
Among those presented to him were Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.
However, after a critical consideration, Atiku picked Okowa as his choice for a running mate.
Speaking at the unveiling, Atiku said one of the factors he considered was that his running mate must have Presidential qualities.
