2027: ‘If you rig, you die’ — Omo-Agege issues warning to election manipulators/

By Divine Sam.

Former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has issued a stern warning to anyone planning to manipulate the 2027 general elections, declaring that those who attempt to rig the polls would face serious consequences.

Omo-Agege, who is the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, made the remarks during his campaign flag-off in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

He insisted that voters would resist any attempt to manipulate the outcome of the elections, arguing that Nigerians were increasingly aware of their electoral rights and determined to protect their votes.

“It’s rig and die. Anybody who tries to rig the 2027 election will face the consequences. We will not allow anyone to steal our votes,” Omo-Agege declared.

The former deputy Senate president maintained that the era of ballot manipulation and electoral fraud should come to an end, urging political actors to respect the will of the electorate.

He also alleged that his campaign, family and supporters had been subjected to intimidation and attacks, calling on security agencies and the international community to closely monitor political activities in Delta State ahead of the elections.

Omo-Agege expressed confidence in the NDC’s chances in the state, predicting that the party would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 polls.

He urged his supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation in support of his senatorial ambition and other candidates seeking election on the NDC platform.
