British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson is reportedly self-isolating after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19, Downing Street has said.
According to BBC’s Political Correspondent, Nick Eardley, the Prime Minister spent about 35 minutes with Ashfield MP Lee Anderson, who has since tested positive.
The NHS reached out to the PM, tested him, and traced but, he is not showing any symptoms.
Recall that In April, Mr. Johnson fell ill with the COVID-19 virus that made him spent three nights in intensive care.
A situation that he survived and was so grateful to the health care workers for saving his life which he agreed ‘could have gone either way’.
According to the statement released by the No 10 Downing street spokesman, he said, “The prime minister has today been notified by NHS Test and Trace that he is required to self-isolate as a contact of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.
“The prime minister will follow the rules and is self-isolating.
“He will carry on working from Downing Street, including on leading the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“The PM is well and does not have any symptoms of Covid-19.”
