The supreme court has today nullified the election of the governor-elect of Bayelsa State and his running mate Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo and declared the PDP candidates winners of the election.
The duo was already preparing to be sworn in on Friday, 14th February 2020 in Bayelsa State.

PDP’s Candidate Senator Douye Diri decaled winner by the supreme court.

The five-man panel led by Justice Mary Odili ordered INEC to withdraw the certificate of return given to the All Progressives Congress.
The court ordered that a fresh certificate of return be issued to the PDP since they polled the second-highest number of votes at the election.
Justice Ekwo who read out the judgment upheld the position of the Federal High court in Abuja which disqualified Degi-Eremienyo for presenting fake certificates.
The court affirmed that the disqualification of the deputy governorship candidate meant that both of them were disqualified since they were regarded as one entity.
David Lyon ran contested for the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa State and emerged Victorious to beat his closest rival of the PDP.
