The claims that the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan described the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential running mate, Kashim Shettima as the party’s presidential candidate, has been denied by the former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode.
Fani-Kayode, in his reaction, said Lawan never described Shettima as APC’s presidential candidate during a recent meeting.
The tweet he was reacting to that was ascribed to the Senate President said, “Met yesterday with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress from Yobe State, including the presidential candidate of our great party, Senator Kashim Shettima.”
Fani-Kayode described the tweet as a fabricated lie, adding that it was the handiwork of the opposition.
He wrote: “I really do wonder how desperate the opposition and their social media trolls can get?
“The tweet pictured below is a TOTAL fabrication and a BIG LIE.
“The Senate President NEVER referred to our Vice Presidential candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima, as our Presidential candidate.”
