Permission has been granted to the former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose who is being tried for alleged N2.2bn fraud, by the Federal High Court to embark on a foreign medical trip.
The permission was granted by Justice Aneke following an application by Fayose’s lawyer, Ola Olanipekun (SAN).
The application was not opposed by the prosecuting counsel for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN).
The EFCC is prosecuting Fayose alongside a firm, Spotless Investment Limited, for alleged N2.2bn fraud.
The case has been adjourned to January 2021.
