Federation Cup: Bendel Insurance, Sunshine Stars, Rangers through to quarter-finals

 

Bendel Insurance zoomed into the quarter-finals of the Federation Cup following a 1-0 victory against Heartland at the Awka Township Stadium on Wednesday.

Sarki Ismael netted the winning goal two minutes after the break following good work by Adodo Stephen and Zaidu Ayuba.

At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Samad Kadiri scored the decisive goal as Kwara United defeated Nasarawa United 1-0.

In another game in Benin City, Sunshine Stars defeated EFCC 3-2 in a thrilling contest.

Samson Olasupo gave Sunshine Stars the lead late in the first half.

Substitute Jide Jimoh doubled the advantage on 82 minutes.

EFCC reduced the deficit two minutes later, while Emmanuel Ogbuagu scored from a free kick to give Sunshine Stars a two-goal lead again.

EFCC scored another goal late in the game.

At the Area 3 pitch, Abuja, Doma United beat non-league club, Edel FC 2-1.

Bidemi Owoku and Daniel Barnabas were on target for Doma United.
