Governor Obaseki Vows To Build New Technical College In Edo State

The Edo state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, is eager to improve the educational sector of Edo state.
Obaseki has revealed that he plans to establish a new technical college in the state in Uzebba, Owan West Local Government Area few weeks to the governorship election.
The governor said his administration has, in the last three years and eight months, continued to pursue reforms and policies that have seen the development of critical sectors of the education sector, including basic, technical and tertiary education.
His words: “As part of efforts to boost technical education in the state, this administration will upgrade the vocational school in Uzebba to a technical college.
“The vocational school built by the former President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration will be upgraded to a technical college.”
According to him, the initiative as part of strategies to build a vibrant workforce to drive the state’s industrial growth.
The governor made the revelation while speaking to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faithful at wards 9 and 10 in Uzebba, Owan West local government area on Friday, August 14. Obaseki said the move is aimed at boosting Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the state.
