Henry Tells Arteta: Win Trophies or Face Questions

Newsie Events :

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has delivered a pointed message to Mikel Arteta, suggesting the Arsenal boss may soon face tough questions if silverware slips away this season.

Arsenal are still very much in the hunt. They lead the Premier League by three points, though Manchester City sit just behind with a game in hand. At the same time, the Gunners are pushing deep into the UEFA Champions League, with a decisive semi-final clash against Atlético Madrid looming.

It’s a big moment, maybe bigger than it first looks. Because for all the progress under Arteta, the last major trophy Arsenal lifted came back in 2020, when they beat Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final.

Speaking on CBS Sports, Henry didn’t dress things up:
“The board is gonna have to decide what they are gonna do with Mikel Arteta. All I’m saying is that at one point, after all those years and the amount of money on the table to have two teams, we have all said Arsenal have the best squad this season.
“At one point, you’ll have to talk and answer some questions if you don’t win. It is just a normal thing after so long.

“While it’s all good and we are all supporting as Arsenal fans where we are going to be, but if it doesn’t happen, like I always said, you are going to have to answer some questions that the board is going to ask you.”

There’s no panic in his words, not exactly. But there’s a clear line being drawn. Progress is one thing. Delivering trophies… that’s another.
