Iran Vows to Avenge assassination of Nuclear Scientist

By Simdi Gloria:-

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has accused Israel of acting as a mercenary for the United States, blaming them for the assassination of a prominent nuclear scientist Moshen Fakhrizadeh.

Iran’s ruler, therefore, threatened revenge over the killing of Fakhrizadeh, who Iranian media said died in hospital after assassins gunned him down in his car near Tehran.

In a statement, President Hassan Rouhani said, “Once again, the evil hands of global arrogance were stained with the blood of the mercenary usurper Zionist regime,”

The assassination of martyr Fakhrizadeh shows our enemies’ despair and the depth of their hatred. His martyrdom will not slow down our achievements.”

Fakhrizadeh was called “the country’s prominent and distinguished nuclear and defensive scientist,” by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

He said Iran’s first priority after the killing was the “definitive punishment of the perpetrators and those who ordered it.”
He did not elaborate.

Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister said that there were “serious indications of an Israeli role” in the assassination.

The United States slapped sanctions on Fakhrizadeh in 2008 for “activities and transactions that contributed to the development of Iran’s nuclear programme”, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu once described him as the father of Iran’s nuclear weapons programme.

Israel has not released a comment on Fakhrizadeh’s death, in keeping with its practice of neither confirming nor denying assassinations it is blamed for.
