Landlords, Residents Lament over bad road situation in Ayegun Oleyo Community in Ibadan. [Video]

Landlords and residents in Ayegun Oleyo community in Oluyole Local Council Area of Oyo state on Friday, protested “the poor and shabby Road condition in their community.

The protesters, who claimed that in the last 30 years no government development project had been done in the community, explained that the road in question is a project that should be financed by the State government under Engr Seyi Makinde’s administration. But, they expressed disappointment over the state government’s ‘I don’t care attitude’ towards the road.

Speaking during the protest the public relations officer Oleyo Road Committee , Mr Ajewuyi, said the quality of the road is very low and have affected the socio-economic life of the people living in the area, and as a matter of fact causes accidents and truncated developmental activities in the community.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Committee, Adetunji Alabi said the ongoing road amendment is done by the collective contributions of community and also with the little support from the local government Council under the executive chairman Hon Settled. He told our correspondent that the bad state of the road has destroyed series of infrastructure that would have sustained the growth of the community.

He explained further that the construction of the road began on Monday 1st November from collective contributions of the residents living in the community and the support from the local government Council. He noted that the community has written several letters to the state government under the current administration but all to no avail.
