Oyo state independent electoral commission OYSIEC, has formally declared Mr. Mudashiru Kamorudeen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the just concluded local government elections in Lagelu LGA.

OYSIEC chief returning officers who announced the result Sunday afternoon said the PDP candidate Mr. Kamorudeen scored 65,786 votes to emerge victorious against his APC rival who scored 4, 172 votes I hereby declare that Mr. Mudashiru Kamorudeen “having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected,” Dr. Olu said.

Newsieevents online earlier reported that apart from winning the total majority votes, the PDP also won in the majority of councilorship position in the local government area.None of the other candidates who took part in the election won in any of the wards in the local government.

Speaking with some selected journalist at OYSIEC headquarters shortly after he was declared winner, the chairman elect Mr. Mudashiru Kamorudeen expressed gratitude for the confidence bestow on him by the people of Lagelu local government area to pilot the affairs of the council in the next 3 years.

Kamorudeen promised to run an all inclusive administration where the youths will be massively empowered, infrastructural development, security and prioritizing educational programs that will upgrade the educational background of the people.He called on his opponents to accept the results, join hands with him to mover the area to another dimension.

He commended OYSIEC for the conduct of the election, describing the exercise free, fair and credible election.The chairman elect, also assure that his administration will work together with the policies of the state governor Engr. Seyi Makide to make sure the governor succeed in office.
