Oyo State Governor’s wife Engr. Tamunominini reiterates commitment to support NBHA.

As association marked 42n anniversary in a grand style

The wife of Oyo State Governor Engr. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde has assured Nigerian beauticians/hairdressers association (NBAH) that the government of Oyo State under the watch of her husband will continue to partner with the organisation to ensure the flexibility of their businesses.

Engr. Tamunominini who was the mother of the occasion, also admonished the beauticians and hairdressers to keep up with modern trends to improve on their craft in order for them to stay relevant.

With the theme “ASA day” the wife of the governor Engr. Mrs. Makinde said the Association’s annual hair and body exhibition,where all kinds of beautiful and cultural hairstyles were displayed was a motivation to other women in the society who are idel without handwork to availd themselves a trade.

The week long activities marking the 42nd anniversary celebration of the organisation in Oyo State also feature hair/body exhibition, under the Chairmanship of Engr. Dotun Sanusi the chief executive officer, IIaji Hotel & sports resort.

came to an end with the grand finale held at the cultural centre, Ibadan on Thursday 23rd November 2023, amid funfare.

While welcoming the guests to the occasion, the Founder of the NBHA, Chief Mrs Olubunmi Adesanya (Iyaloja Adelabu market) used the medium to congratulates the Emergence of governor Seyi Makinde in his reelection bid and assure that the association will continue to support the administration of the state governor.

She thank the Oyo State government for it unalloyed encouragement by giving the beauticians a lift to upgrade their businesses.

Chief Mrs. Olubunmi Adesanya who led the anniversary, commended the Makinde government for its good work in the state, noting that their businesses have benefited positively from the prompt payment of salaries and other policies.

She said the association which was formed in April, 1981 has succeeded in helping some members to set up their own salon, building a house for the association among achievements.

Also speaking the president of the association Chief Mrs. Oluwatoyin Oladapo acknowledged the founder chief Mrs. Olubunmi Adesanya, the wife of the governor Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde and other government officials present for being a kind and generous to the members of the organisation.

She said the 2023 anniversary was not only to come together and chat the way forward, but also to exhibit their various new hair styles both local and international.

She commended the members for their total cooperation, commitment and focused to enhancing the future of the organisation. She assured that the group under her administration will continue to enjoy an Uninterrupted relationship with the government and other private sectors through the help of the founder.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ademola IGE said the association has become a role model that other artisans, tradesmen and groups are looking up to because of the ways they have been coordinating and organizing their programmes.

Ige who was the chairman of the occasion on the grand finale who’s the Life Patron of the association disclosed that Engr Seyi Makinde led administration will not take the support the association has been given it for granted.

He, however, enjoined leaders of the association to accommodate other splinter groups within themselves so as to enjoy the government’s support together.

The high points of anniversary celebration was hair/fashion parade, cultural parade, dance competition, presentation of hair dryer to derseving beneficiaries and crowning of the winner of the best stylish of the year.

Others dignitaries that graced the grand finale include, Hon. Bolanle Sarumi Aliyu, Hon. Bolaji Badmos, the Babaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaji Y.K. Abass, and representatives of various associations in the State.
