PRESS RELEASE: At no point has the Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Federal Constituency hopeful, Engr. Iboro Johnny, declared himself winner of the just concluded APC primaries.

The attention of Iboro Abasi Campaign organization has been drawn to a purported concoction making the rounds on social media.

The purported claims making the rounds that the frontline hopeful for Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Federal Constituency seat, Engr. Iboro Johnny, has declared himself winner of the just concluded APC primaries are not only false, misleading and malicious, but a calculated attempt by desperate political detractors to distort facts and tarnish a reputation built on discipline, maturity and loyalty to party structures.

At no point did Engr. Iboro Johnny arrogate to himself the constitutional responsibility of declaring results, knowing fully well that such authority rests exclusively with the party and its designated electoral officials. Any narrative to the contrary exists only in the imagination of mischief makers whose stock in trade is propaganda, blackmail and political falsehood.

Engr. Iboro Johnny remains a committed party man with profound respect for the Electoral Act, internal party mechanisms and democratic principles. His political journey has consistently been defined by civility, restraint and respect for constituted authority, values that sharply contrast the reckless desperation being displayed by those manufacturing baseless allegations against him.

It is therefore both unfortunate and condemnable that certain individuals, unable to withstand the growing acceptance and credibility surrounding his aspiration, have resorted to concocted stories and divisive propaganda aimed at misleading the public and creating unnecessary tension within the party fold.

Politics must never be reduced to a theatre of bitterness, intimidation, lies and character assassination. The people of Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Federal Constituency deserve issue-based engagement anchored on truth, decency and healthy democratic competition, not malicious campaigns fueled by envy and desperation. Supporters, stakeholders and the general public are therefore strongly urged to disregard such unfounded insinuations, as they are nothing more than the handiwork of political jobbers bent on causing confusion and smearing the hard-earned image of Engr. Iboro Johnny.

Truth remains sacred, and no amount of propaganda can overshadow integrity and honour.
