Reps member showers encomiums on retired Chief Judge

The Member Representing Ukanafun/ Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Unyime Idem has acknowledged the contribution of Hon. Justice Godwin Abraham to quick dispensation of justice as the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State.

Idem bared his mind while fielding questions from journalists at the special thanksgiving service to mark the retirement of the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State which took place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dominion Mega Parish, Akwa Ibom Province 1 Headquarters, Off Ring Road 3, Uyo.

Hon. Idem said as a committed Judicial Officer, Justice Abraham was not only concerned about the preservation of the law and sustenance of its potency for the maintenance of peace and order in the society, but was also passionate about the justification of the rating of the Judiciary as the last hope of the common man.

He congratulated Justice Abraham, who was retiring at the age of 65, and the enormous successes and achievements that stand to his credit in his thirty four years stint in the Justice system .

The Deputy Chairman, Communications Committee in the House thanked God for standing by Justice Abraham to reach the peak of his career which he noted was dominated with diligence, dedication to duty and transparency.

He lauded Justice Abraham for his meritorious service to his father land, as a Magistrate, Chief Magistrate, Judge and Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State.

The Lawmaker noted that though the Chief Judge who hails from Oruk Anam was bowing out of service at the age of 65, he still looked agile and healthy, stating that the society will continue to seek his wise counsel .

Idem ,on behalf of his family, the people of Ukanafun / Oruk Anam Federal Constituency prayed God to continue to imbue Justice Abraham with wisdom, understanding and knowledge even as he wished him a happy retirement and the best in his future endeavours.

Born on 29th June, 1956 into the family of Chief Jack Abraham of Ediene Ikot Ebom, Ekparakwa in Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Justice Abraham was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985.

His Lordship was sworn in as the Acting Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State on 20th March, 2017 and as substantive Chief Judge on 13th June, 2017.

The service was graced by the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel and featured Thanksgiving by the Hon.Chief Judge and his family, prayer for the Chief Judge as well as Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
