The two-day conference of United Evangelical Church founded as Qua Iboe Church Ukanafun Area Conference, themed: “moving from Glory to Glory. Be strong and courageous” and taken from 2nd Corinthians 2:18 and Job 1:6. The Conference, which held at the Area conference headquarters located at Ikot Akpan Nkuk in Ukanafun LGA, attracted Christians from far and near.
In his remarks the Chairman Area conference Rev. Monday Otoho thank God for Ukanafun Area Conference that started that started on the 24th August, 2022.
Speaking on the theme of the Conference, Rev Otoho urged members to be strong and courageous to enable the transient of their Glory, despite the incisions happenings in the country. He also enjoined Christians, as well as Nigerians to avoid sin and live a holy life.
He said the theme was an encouragement to all professed Christians, in the midst of wolves and challenges to continue to live a holy, blameless and righteous lives. He assured all, that no participants will leave the conference regretting.
Listing the achievement under his administration as the Chairman Area Conference Rev. Otoho mentioned some of his deeds including the re-survey of the Area headquarters premises, opening of bank account by the Area, superintendencis, fellowships, congregation and unit in the Area conference.
Central Ordination of key officers of the Area, pastors and their wives without financial levity. Ordination of deacons, Deaconesses and Elders, centrally at the Area conference, Hosting of National fellowships, over 10m bus lunched by the Area women fellowship, the mid-year convention, rotation of Area ministry, creation of Autonomous superintendent in Etim Ekpo/Ika respectively and lots more.
He called on the government to help and engage the youths in meaningful projects, not necessarily when it is time for political campaigns and election period.
Rev Christian Effiong the administrator National worship center, who delivered the keynote address, lamented that the value system has disappeared from the society simply because Christians have abandoned their faith for material wealth. He charged all to repent and live for righteousness to avert the looming consequences that will befall unrepentant sinners.
He enjoined Christians to love one another, so as to attract God’s blessing. They were also enjoined.
Speaking on the theme of the conference Rev. Effiong regretted that many things are happening now a days, strange things happen unexpectedly and this can be so discouraging.
He said God encouraged Joshua to be courageous because Joshua had low self esteem when looking at the achievement of Moses.
Taking his messages from Matthew 8:23 and Joshua 1:6-7 the National administrator of the UEC worship center in Abuja called the participants to be courageous to enable them acquire God’s glory.
Rev Chris admonished Christians to love one another, shun materialism and live a holy live.
Elder Ekoriko Central planing committee tasked members to love God and ensure there is cooperation among component units of the Area Conference, so as to advance the work of God in the area
Elder Effiong Ekpo the secretary of the central working committee extolled the spiritual significance of the annual conference. This including many spiritual growth if members, church plantings and lots more.
