The Eka Midim Community, Worldwide, has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, describing their working relationship as a positive example of political cooperation capable of advancing development in Akwa Ibom State.

The community made its position known in a special welcome address issued ahead of President Tinubu’s working visit to Akwa Ibom State on Friday, November 6, 2026.

In the statement signed by the Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Professor Sunday Nkereuwem Etukudoh, the community described the President’s visit as more than a ceremonial engagement, saying it represented recognition of Akwa Ibom’s place in the nation’s development and the importance of national unity.

Etukudoh, speaking on behalf of the community, expressed appreciation to the President for what he described as his numerous and fatherly support to Akwa Ibom, noting that the state had continued to enjoy attention and cooperation from the Federal Government despite political differences.

According to the community, the Tinubu administration has demonstrated inclusive leadership by treating Akwa Ibom as a partner in national development rather than allowing partisan considerations to undermine federal-state relations.

The community also applauded Governor Umo Eno for what it described as his commitment to infrastructural development, pointing to several projects expected to receive presidential attention during the visit.

Among the projects highlighted were the new terminal building at Victor Attah International Airport, the Hospital and Aviation Village, the 14.5-kilometre Nsit Atai-Okobo Road, the 7.86-kilometre Outer Ring Road Phase III, the AkwaGIS Building, the Governor’s Office Annex, the State Security and Command Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.

It maintained that the projects went beyond physical infrastructure, describing them as evidence of what purposeful governance and development-oriented leadership could achieve at the sub-national level.

The Eka Midim Community also singled out the relationship between President Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno for commendation, describing their political cooperation as a model that places the interest of Akwa Ibom above party affiliations.

It noted that the relationship between the Presidency and the National Assembly, particularly under Akpabio’s leadership of the 10th Senate, had contributed to the smooth working relationship required to move the country forward.

Beyond the commendation, the community made a strong political declaration, assuring President Tinubu of its support for his anticipated second-term bid.

Etukudoh said the people of Eka Midim, both at home and in the diaspora, were prepared to support the President, expressing confidence that Akwa Ibom, Abak and Eka Midim would deliver substantial electoral backing for him.

“Akwa Ibom will stand with you. Abak will stand with you. Eka Midim will deliver massively for Asiwaju,” the community declared.

The statement concluded with a warm welcome to the President, Governor Umo Eno and other political leaders, expressing hope that the presidential visit would usher in greater prosperity for Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.

The declaration by the Eka Midim Community, Worldwide, underscores the growing political significance of grassroots endorsements and the role of community institutions in shaping conversations around governance, development and electoral support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
